Chamber Safe is a high performance, cementitious resurfacing and refractory parging material designed to strengthen, streamline, and restore the critical smoke chamber area in masonry chimneys. This material is non-water soluble, listed to UL Subject 2505 and meets ASTM E-196, C199, and C401 as a “Medium Duty” refractory mortar. Chamber Safe is a registered trademark with U.S. Fireplace Products.

It is a premixed air and heat setting mortar which withstands temperatures up to 3000 degree F and resists freezing up to 0 degree F. The “yellow lid” Parging contains a grit substance while the “black lid” Troweling does not. Coverage is approximately 4-6 square feet per gallon at 1/8” to 1/4” thickness. Not recommended for applications thicker than 1/4”.

Chamber Cure Pro’s intended uses are to improve the smoke chamber’s ability to contain the products of combustion by sealing cracks and missing mortar joints, to insulate the smoke chamber, and to reduce turbulance in the smoke chamber by reducing the effects of corbelled bricks. Chamber Cure Pro also may help to improve the integrity of an existing masonry smoke chamber, though it is not a replacement for repointing or rebuilding structures that are structurally unsound.
