B e ST COVERS are EASY to price, Try it yourself before you call.. (not for Drip Skirt style base) FORMULA: Width + ((skirt + drip) X 2)

Step 1: Measure the Length & Width of the interior of the chimney space. Multiply them together to find the GROSS area in sq-in. Example: 13”L x 13”W = 169 GROSS sq-in Step 2: Look at chart below to find the area of the liner to be installed (Choose either the Round or Oval section depending on the liner shape). In the chart a 6” Round Liner = 28.26 sq-in. Subtract the Liner area from the GROSS area in step-1. Example: 169 - 28.26 = 140.74 sq-in NET sq-in area Step 3: Multiply the NET sq-in area by the height (in inches) of the chimney to find the Cubic-inch volume. Example: 140.74 x 180”H = 25333.2 cubic-inches Step 4: Convert cubic-inches to cubic-feet by dividing the cubic- inches from step-3 by 1728 . 1728 = ( 12L x 12W x 12D ) Example : 25333.2 / 1728 = 14.66 cubic-feet Step 5: Each BEST-MIX bag or THERMIX bag is 2 cubic-feet. Divide the cubic feet from Step-4 by 2 cubic feet. Example: 14.66 / 2 = 7.33 = 8 BEST-MIX or THERMIX bags required. CALCULATE FIREPLACE LINER SIZE This is a guide for Masonry Chimneys serving fireplaces that are a minumum of 8ft in height with no offsets in the flue. NFPA 211 and/or local codes will always take precedence. Step 1: Find the FIREPLACE OPENING AREA by measuring the height and width of your Fireplace Opening (inside your home). FIREPLACE OPENING AREA = Height (IN) X Width (IN) Step 2: Calculate your ASPECT RATIO # Depending on the SHAPE of the liner that will be used, the ASPECT RATIO is. - Round Flues: RATIO=12:1 - Square Flues: RATIO=10:1 - Rectangle, Oval Flues with a proportion less than 2:1: RATIO=10:1 - Rectangle, Oval Flues with a proportion greater than 2:1 (ie 5x11): RATIO=8:1 Step 3: Use Formula: FIREPLACE OPENING AREA / ASPECT RATIO = AREA REQUIRED Step 4: Cross reference the calculated AREA REQUIRED number with “AREA CHARTS” on the page to right. The AREA REQUIRED number should fall between two diameters in the chart. Use the greater of the two diameters.
